Action Against Hunger has been present in Cameroon since 1998. Since 2014, our interventions are mainly in the Eastern Region and the Far North of the country on emergency programs initiated with Central African refugees and affected host communities by socio-political unrest in CAR and violence related to Boko Haram activity in the Lake Chad region. ACF has set up long-term nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene programs with the support of ECHO and SIDA for more than 150,000 beneficiaries. Since the end of 2018, ACF, under the name of Action Against Hunger (AAH), is also present in the South-West, in support of the crisis that rages in this region.
Our 2020's strategy is based on responding to immediate humanitarian needs and contributing to economic recovery and strengthening resilience and social cohesion in Cameroon.
There are 140 employees on the mission, spread over 5 bases: Batouri in the East, Maroua and Kousseri in the Far North, Buéa in the South West and coordination in Yaounde.

The Health and Nutrition Programme Manager (PM) will be based in Buea in a common Guest House with a single room but with modest amenities. He/She will make frequent trips to the Kumba department as part of the follow-up / monitoring activities, training of the teams of the kumba sub-base.
Depending on the evolution of the security situation, the Health and Nutrition PM will have to constantly adapt the program implementation approach (deployment of mobile teams) and supervise 23 people composed of a Deputy Manager, Health and Nutrition Supervisor, nurses and midwives from mobile clinics, the SMPS component , TPS, and community mobilization facilitators.
Buéa remains an area of great vigilance with the presence of Boko Haram fractions on the border with Nigeria, even if the INGOs are not directly targetted. The security context remains unstable with frequent lockdowns.
Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator, you will ensure the implementation of the health and nutrition programmes through 1 mobile clinic, 1 stabilization center, and 1 health facility, as part of the emergency response to the nutrition / health needs of the populations affected by the crisis in the southwest region of Cameroon.
More precisely, you will be in charge of:
You hold a degree in nutrition & health, public health, nursing, or general medicine, with two years or more of professional experience in a similar programme management role, with at least a year of experience in an emergency context.
Furthermore, you have a confirmed experience in managing, capacity building and the transfer of knowledge to your teams.
You have an excellent knowledge of the english language and strong analytical, synthesis and writing skills.
A former ACF experience, an understanding of the Cameroun context, a good knowledge of the community health & nutrition approaches, and some understanding of the french language will be considered as an asset for this position.
This position comes with a wide number of challenges to take on, like integrating the MHPSS to the nutrition and health programmes, by ensuring a psychosocial support for victims of trauma or gender-based violence. You will need to ensure that patients care are done within 48 hours of the incident, taking into consideration a context of armed conflict. The aim of it is to ensure a digniful treatment of our beneficiaries
